This blog started because I was trying to deal with my older brother "George" having brain Cancer (diagnosed in Sept.) George's funeral was Dec. 11th in Kingman, AZ.
He was my Dad's 1st child out of 14 ... I'm #13 (that could explain "some" parts of my life!) lol
The best we can hope for in this life is to make sure that we let those that we love and care about ... KNOW IT!

Well ... I've been in SO CAL since last Sat. evening because of another family illness.
My brother George passed away last Tuesday (Dec. 5th) while I was in CAL and I drove up home last night and, I attended his funeral today in Kingman, AZ. It was a beautiful ceremony and he was given a Military burial. He is at Peace now ... but, I will damn sure miss his loving ways and his sense of humor. I am here for a few more minutes and then, back out the door towards SO CAL again.
I am WIPED OUT to say the least.
I miss hangin' out with you guys and there's no computer where I'm staying at in CAL so ... Hopefully, I'll be back online soon!
P.S. ~~ Thank You ~~ to all for the support you've given me during this time for my brother "George" ... He was a good man.

Hi Everyone ... I just got a call this morning that my brother has taken a turn for the worse ... and, the doctors told my Sis N Law to not leave Prescott today because he isn't going to make it. :^( She has spent the last couple nights with him and was planning on leaving and, then go back up to Prescott to spend the weekend with him. They told her "it's best that you don't leave becaue he isn't going to make it". I guess he is pretty much in a "daze" right now and isn't comprhending anything.
I'm waiting to hear more info. :^(

I feel for you and your folks. Ill send some prayers your way, have some of same going on here. Make it hard to get out and have fun but sometimes you need to help your self to help them! Hang in and fell free to give a yell. If you need to chat about it.Or can help. Some of the doves are talking about running away to the island, fell free to tag alone. I am sure you could use some island time. And I know I could use some island time with friends. Best wishes Ken in Paradise

I have been somewhat a "hermit" for a while now because by the time I visit with the people in my life who are so ill right now and by the time I finish up with all the phone calls with family ... I'm pretty burned out. But, that's O.K. because right now "I" have MY health and I am VERY Thankful for that! ... :^)
I really do "treasure" every moment that I'm able to spend with those that I love ... I've always tried to NOT take life for granted ... the hardest part is probably not being able to get out there, ride, and party like the rest here.
But, like I've said in a previous post ... I will be out riding the Sporty soon or with my "Special Someone" with my arms around them riding free in the wind feeling like a "Wild Spirit" once again!
To those of you who have offered me some much needed "get away time" ... I really DO appreciate the thought and hopefully, I will be able to take you up on it when the time is right.

For those of you who are interested ... I will post more on the subject HERE because I find myself typing and re-typing to different people who ask me how things are going.
Well ... my brother "George" has spent the last 3 weeks at home getting progressively worse ... unable to talk, falling down continuously to the point where he hurt his leg and was unable to even stand at all on his own. So, my newphew and 69 year old Sis n Law (bless their hearts) did the best they knew how with him because they knew how bad he wanted to be home with them ... but, it got to be too much for them. I saw him last Friday and this past Sunday and he seemed so uncomfortable so, I rubbed his lower legs and feet (very gently because even that hurt if too much pressure was applied) and, he fell asleep like a baby. (sitting up on the loveseat where he kept insisting on sitting) He never layed down for any length of time and when everyone else was exhausted and trying to get some rest ... he would try to get up and he would fall down everytime. :^( He is NOT a small man so, that was really difficult for the family to deal with when they had to pick him up off the floor so many times.
Long story shorter ... They took him to a "Long Term Care Facility for Veterans" in Prescott yesterday (Monday) he fought in the "Korean War" many moons ago. He will be getting the care that he really needs there. They have already determined that he has been having headaches because of "swelling in his brain from the Steroids that the Dr. has been giving him" . It sounds like a really nice place and I can't wait to see him and exchange big hugs again. It is 2 1/2 hours from me but, I'll get there! I know that he won't be with us much longer and I'm so happy that he is finally going to get some TLC from a great staff of people.

Well ... I saw my bro today and he smiled a lot when I told him that I showed up at the hospital to harass him! ... :^)
But, didn't talk too much because he "can't" ... the radiation really did a number on his brain. He is needing a lot more help now and he wants to go home by tomorrow ... So, his wife is talking with the doctor about "nurse care" for him when he gets back home. It will more than likely be a "Hospice" situation.

I just got a phone call earlier and found out for my Birthday ...(Nov. 7th)
My Bro isn't doing well after undergoing radiation treatments for the last couple weeks ... he's back in the hospital again and the prognosis isn't looking good ... :^(
All I can do is PRAY that he won't suffer thru all this ...
I will be seeing him in the hospital tomorrow.

When I posted the "UPDATE" ... it was "radiation treatments" that he started and he will begin Chemo AFTER that ... so, I guess that could be when things "may" drastically change for him. :^(
His 73rd Birthday is tomorrow ... Oct. 28th and I will be there for sure! ;^)
UPDATE: My brother started his Chemo this past Monday and he went golfing that afternoon and Tuesday afternoon too! ;^)
He's taking the radiation pretty good so far ... he has 2 more weeks to go. :^(
I'll be talking with him later on this evening to see how he's been doing the last couple days. The last time I saw him "in person" was Sunday evening (before the treatments started) and, he was in really good spirits. :^)

I think the response to Chemo really depends on "the person" ... George is a pretty strong human being! :^)
( I should've said in the previous post his "favorite" club was right next to him! ) I'm sure that doing 18 holes would be kind of strange with 1 club! ...

Great pic!!! Would the dr.s put him through chemo if they thought he could not handle it? I don't know anything about it, just wondering. But..please tell your brother and Pat and know for yourself you have lots of prayers with you all. Take care of yourself too!! T
