Not getting posts up quicker is the price we pay for all the "spammers" scum out there. We had a great message board on our local club site.If got up and wanted to ride, could post place-time to meet would usually have 5 to 10 bikes show up.Didn't have to be member of our club or even pay dues to view site. You could almost IM with it. But some how it started getting flooded with porn/poker & diet pill adds, the web master had to get rid of it for now.So maybe way this is done looks to be working.I'm like ZeeDr, no big hurry.
Zee~ Nodey is right; as a matter of fact if I could; I would tell you where to go that is cheaper, and be it a profile, a profile change, or the board goes up as soon as you press that enter key~ and yes it is for the biker community. I would tell you loads more but Big Brother or the post patrol will do to me what they did to another on here and I ain't ready to get kicked off the site.....yet.
The cost ($9.95) is not outrageous. Go elsewhere on the net, it could cost you three times that elsewhere, and they usually have no free message board at all available.
Some of you folks are ... well ... a little less than laid back I feel. Relax, it's all good !
Better watch what ya say to them, I wrote them and told them I complained to the parent company about their service, they responded by telling me how to discontinue haveing my bank automaticly deducted. I then wrote and told them they were fast enough to get my money every month on time and that I felt the poor service didn't match the fast withdrawal... they wrote back that they have stopped the automatic bank withdrawal... ineffect yanking my gold. It's their web site, and have the right to do so... but it shows that they ahve little or no intrest in directly addressing our concerns regarding poor service. I don't like the way they do things here, but this is where my friends are... so what do ya do? Suck it up and take it? Never have in the past, but... now what?
To pay or not to pay, that is the question! The price they are asking is outrageous. $9.95 a month and what do you get?
There is no consistencey and I see a lot of grumbling about how long it takes for posts to get posted. Being located in CA they are propbably out riding on the weekends.
They propbably need people top run the boards tht are non riders, but I don't know if they have the paying membership base to afford that. Certainly if they had a fairly large customer base at $5.95 a month they could afford it.
I think it is remarkable that they do as well as they are doing. I would imagine that most of the members are non-paying ones, and, more sign on everyday. Everyone (paying and non-paying) have the capacity to post freely to the message board and forums. So to make a comparison if you have 10,000 mouths to feed but a paycheck that will only support 1000 I think there doing quite well in their ability to feed the masses. However, for those of us that are paying members it can be quite flustrating.
I do believe that they probably bit off more than they can chew and are overwhelmed. There are so many people posting in both the forums and on the message board now that it must take awhile to sensor all of them (along with all of our e-mails.) Hey did you all know that they do that? Censor our emails? Cracks me up. They will remove the urls and links that we put in our
e-mails that we send, but someone can slip me a shot of them in the buff.... that slides right by them. Hmmmmmm..... bk what's the deal????
Lol...Their reply to me was, It will be better at a later date" ?????? LOL! What in the world does that mean?
I am convinced now that the site is run by amatuers, but i am giving them the benefit of a doubt. Look how fast this forum has grown I'll continue to be patient...for now.
Nodey, You must be a verrrrry patient Lady. I am surprised you held back this long.... lol. Well if enough of us complain then perhaps things will improve. It appears to be hit and miss with bk. Just when I think they are doing so good, dang if the wheels don't fall off. Then three days go by with the same messages. Ho-Hum! Same old story, same old tune.
You're right LadyVulcan. Since i've joined,the forums have grown by leaps and bounds.I finally had to complain to the powers-that-be. I'm tired of paying for a service that i'm not receiving.
Wow.... I can hardly believe these forums were so dead a couple of months ago. So many members have jumped in to post and new forums are popping up all of the time. I used to breeze through the forums in about 15 minutes. Now it takes a good hour to go through them. BK is slightly better at updating (until the weekend rolls around.) Anyway the forums are no longer dead.... they have been great and it is awesome to share our views. This is ONE of the good things bk has going for it!
