Been semi or full pro since I was a teenager. It was the easiest way to get into a bar "I'm with the BAND!" lol Now I'm 53 & I still play in 3 bands ... it's my second job.
1. 3 piece Blues & Classic Rock band "Dirty Ernie"
2. 5 piece full-on Blues band "Delta Ratz"
3. 12 piece Mellencamp tribute band "Pink Houses"
The 1st 2 bands play everything from little bars & private parties to poker runs, charity events & festivals. The 3rd band only plays large outdoor festivals and fairs.
Do I have a guitar? Yeah, about 20 of them not counting the mandolins, banjo, Russian Balalaika, dulcimer, keyboards & other instruments I own & play regularly.
Guitar? Too many to list! It's possible to play even if you don't have "musician hands." Try Guitar Hero first to learn about frets and what not. Gibson Epsilon here.
I play lap steel guitar, I have a 1950's Supro Comet eight-string and a triple-neck Remington Steel. Play them through a Mesa Boogie Subway Blues tube amp and they squeal like pigs!!! I just bought a Fender Resonator guitar, it's gorgeous, it's all chrome! Listen to a lot of Duane Allman, Eric Clapton, Warren Haynes. I love blues, western swing and old country (love that Hank Sr. sound).
I just retired from the Air Force, been in Germany 9 years. I play country mostly and believe it or not there was a good calling for it here. The Germans just love the really old country. Been gigin here for about 4 years, hope to continue when I get back home in a couple weeks. I own 15 guitars including 1 bass. I love my Martin but play my Takamines for live shows. Would love to learn some Blues, I love that sound.
good to see all the blues lovers here, and thanks diva for mentioning johnny winter. i fool with my fender, but can't really consider myself a player. lots of great local talent here near detroit
Zee- Do you know Jimmy Slack--Slacker-- He is really good! Then there is Joe Sharp--and how about Jumpin Jerry Jo Clark, he's a hoot!!! He is also a sweetie!!! Well as you know I have left many out-- but just too many to name.
I love the blues and it's very hard to play, Im am trying to learn that, I just adore my Johnny Winter and Stevie Ray, ahhh someday I hope to play like them
Blues and jazz are my true loves musically speaking, they are the roots of improvisational muse in our western culture and that's what got me into playing music in the first place.
The blues had a baby and they called it rock'n'roll.
Jazz is the nephew to the blues that went to colledge for 8 years.
I have an Ibanez Ergodyne that's metallic steel grey.
I've been playing off and on for about 7 years.
It's nice to get together with someone and just sit and jam of a summer evening with some cold beers and pluck out some tunes....especially some 12 bar blues, baby!
HD65, thanks for the request. In time, I will put my pic up, just not ready to yet.
Nice collection of guitars for someone that has only been playing for 3 months. I had 5 before my divorce, went down to 1, but now back up to 3. You are right, it's a very relaxing hobby. Stick with it!
I've been playing for only a few months now, but I got 3 guitars, a Gibson Epiphone, a jackson, and a accoustic guitar, I just love playing it's so relaxing, a way to get away from the world just turn up the amp and jam
