Starting a new topic...
We had a great turn out for our first party off the mountain...but it was a real bear to get the word out...want a central place to post just for us...so if you are having a party/ride/meet and greet.. and want to invite those BK people from CA...or from anywhere...post here...we can keep a watch on this site...and hopefully in time the word will get around and we can all meet and get to know each other in person.

We are hosting the 2nd annual Kern River Run Sept. 8th n 9th 2007.
The ride will start in Lancaster Cal at 8am on the 8th and end at the Kern river. If you can't make the start you can still ride to the campground on the river for the over night party.

Seems I am the only one who is posting here right now.....
Have had several requests to use this weekend to help someone else while we are having fun....combined with what will happen to any money that is left over.....if there is any.....

I have found a VERY WORTHY CAUSE...a fellow biker who is waiting for a transplant and is unable to work ... he has two teenage children and a wife....live here in Mariposa. His wife is working, but at a very low wage.....he needs around the clock care and she cannot be there....they need help, so if everyone agrees, he and his family will be our cause and any funds raised for him, or any funds left over....should they come in....will be donated to him, and his...if that works for all of you...I would like feedback here.....

I think we can do without a band and just have everyone bring a CD they are fond of and get some bodies who want to rotate playing DJ for 2hr shifts and go with that and the Pot-a -Pots, and a $5 or whatever charge to cover expences.
Thats my suggestion---Mick

This all sounds great and I'd love to join in. I seem to be missing some critical info however.
Like an address to send $ and where the gig is happening.
Also, is anyone going from the San Francisco area?

Hello, one and all! This is a list of what we have pledged so far:
6 turkeys
20 #'s mashed potatoes
pies [# unknown]
turkey enchiladas [friday]
sandwich supplies [enough]
sodas
paper plates
disposable cups
ham
charcoal [enough?]
potatoes
refried beans [friday]
tortillas [friday]

As you can see we have PLENTY of entrees for Thursday, and enough turkey sandwiches for leftovers galore! Also, the menu for Friday will be of a south-of-the-border theme~ so anything along those lines would be very helpful! Breakfasts are impromptu as a function of varying rise times, and will consist of coffee [did you find the big pot yet, Karen?], and either a trip to the local diner or a turkey sandwich. Lunches will also be a "wing-it" affair due to day rides and/or the strength of your hangover.

What's still needed? More:
Stuffing/dressing [there's NEVER enough!]
Dinner rolls & butter [Parkay?]
Potatoes
Canned veggies- grn beans & corn
Cranberry Sauce
Firewood
Barbeques & charcoal
Appetizers- munchies & finger foods

We have about 30 confirmed attendees, but have received much-needed support money from only two people! If you're coming, please don't wait til the last minute- please help! Send your payment to: Karen~ aka "mountaintrouble"

Thanks, and see you soon!
Scott
