Welcome home brother! Got any funny stories. I read one in Readers Digest once. A guy was pulling KP on a day of a fire fight. He was cracking eggs they had rounded up from somewhere. A piece of the egg shell ended up in his eye somehow. He got a purple heart because they documented it in his medical records as removing shell fragment from eye. The date was the same day of a fire fight at that location so he got a purple heart. I always wondered if it was a true story or not.
I think I heard about that one, too, but not from Reader's Digest. USN, 72-77, USS Dixon, USS Robert E. Peary DE-1073, USS Wichita AOL-1, et al.
Welcome Home Brother. I will be at a little bar in Round Rock on the 27th of this month called the Road House. It is not the Texas Road House chain. It is at the Sam Bass Rd exit. It is West of the Freeway right next to a railroad track. If you can make it there it would be good to meet a brother vet there.
