Researching one's geneaology is very rewarding, but it's also time consuming and can be quite costly.

Sometimes you learn things that you wish would have remained swept under the impervious rug!

I found that there is a connection between two seperate families on my paternal side which is linked due to adultry. Not something that I would have thought to have taken place 3 generations ago. So, my great-great-aunt had children on both sides of my family tree.

That should explain alot for me!

LOL!!

But, on another point, my great-grandmother immigrated to America from Germany when she was only 13 years old. She refused to speak of her family's homeland because she proudly proclaimed that she was now American and lived as an American and never speaking in German or what area or town from whence she came. That's one part of my family tree which is still unfounded.

Wow Passionate Rebel, my great great great grandfather was a Blackfoot indian ... the co-incidences continue unabated.

I love co-incidence, it's like fate passing notes under the desk.

I'm mostly German, with a little Welsh, Scottish, and Dutch.

There's rumors of Native American in my maternal side, but nothing founded.

I've researched my geneaology on my paternal side. I found that my Great-Great-Great Grandfather (who's father was 'a yankee') had married the daughter of 'a rebel'! I would have loved to see the family's faces during that ceremony!

I have a direct bloodline to the last King of Greece ... I believe if I knocked off about 14 people I could have the throne. LOL

If they still had a throne, and if I could somehow conceal my method of getting there from being noticed.

From what I know: Pretty much Scotch-Irish on my father's side, from North Carolina and then to Florida. Had an ancestor that was a moonshiner, at least one.

On my mother's side German, Czech, a little French, possibly some Polish. Grandparents came over in 1911 and 1913, first grandfather, then grandmother.

Nobody famous though.
