Yes your right Andi,
Smokeing is bad!
Bad for me, bad for my wallet, bad for the people around me..
Pretty bad all the way around and maybe one day I'll kick it, just don't have the drive to do it yet.

It doesn't help, but everyone has a choice to make. Maybe you should just go out with smokers. I don't smoke, but I have dated women who do. They have been considerate.
A couple were having sex and the man asked, "Do you smoke after sex?"
She replied, " I don't know. I never looked."

I revise that. After recently seeing someone who is probably THE MOST chronic chain smoker I've ever been around (although a considerate smoker, I will say) I will no longer date a smoker. Sorry, but really being anywhere near the smoke gives me headaches and I just don't like the smell that lingers on their clothes and skin.
I'm with you on that one. I've never smoked and no one in the family does. I've tried to date those who do, but kissing just isn't that fresh and if that's not good, I just don't care to go f*arther. (Yes, f*arther was banned by the BK idiots.)
And another thing. I watched my ex's grandfather (who was one of the most incredible men I've ever known) die of lung cancer. He never smoked. Even WITH the cancer, he was healthy as hell. I watched Grandmother sit at his bedside through his last hours. Now she is alone at 85 and doing her best to move forward after a 60+ year marriage.
Beings we know smoking is a huge cause of lung cancer, I don't care to spend my later years in life sitting at a bedside. Don't care to lose my husband because he consistantly did something in his younger years that he knew had a big chance of killing him. It seems selfish to place your loved one in that position just for a bad habit you wouldn't cut.
Great points ladies.
I've been a smoker for 30 years now, in great shape considering the milage and abuse I've put this soul-shell through, but it's going to catch up with me for sure one day.
The smokeing has cost me tons of money, lot's of breath, and most importantly.. I'm sure I've had more then a few good ladies who didn't consider me because of the smokeing.
So I've cut down from about 3 packs a day (hows that for chronic smoking?) to less then a pack a day and hope to go cold turkey soon.
You'll know I did it if you meet me on the road..
I'll be the rider with his fingernails chewed down to his wrists.

I would LOVE to find a non-smoking male my age to date that is cute, SINGLE, and lives in southeast MI (macomb county MI). yes that is so true shadowcat. I feel the same way about a woman, it seems like you find somebody you are attracted to but they smoke, whats up with that?? I find it really contradictory when they say they are looking for someone healthy, eats right, exercises and then they are a daily smoker?? WTF does that mean, you want a healthy man but you are killing yourself with cigarettes, doesnt make much sense to me. Just my opoinion.

My doctor asked me how long I had been smoking. I told him I never smoked. He told me I was lying as my lungs are scarred from smoking. He clammed up when I told him it was second hand smoke. My parents smoked during my childhood. When I worked at Boeing people smoked in the buildings and where I was the branch manager at Snelling and Snelling the counselors smoked. They can't anymre as WA state banned smoking in public places and Federal buildings. My lungs are already damaged.
I cannot be around smoke. I sold my condo in downtown Seattle as the woman downstairs smoked and it came up through the 100 year old floor boards. I'd come home to a big blue cloud of smoke. I found my clean clothes in my closet smelled of smoke. I had the floors sealed but in a building that old smoke seeps in no matter what.
A couple of men I dated from BK smoked. They thought they could hide the fact. My profile said no smokers. One of them told me they can't date anyone if they say they smoke.
My best friends husband works for RJ Reynolds. He works with billions of dollars of tobacco money and grades the tobacco. He is very considerate of me and smokes away from me when we hang out, eat dinner, or all of us go riding. I came to NC from the west coast, so I do not feel I can complain this being a tobacco state. I just do not go to restaurants or bars where there's more smoke than air. Zzoooom, -vetducgirl
