Very simple:
Case 1 - When it's 32 degrees F or below, and there is water on the road.
Case 2 - Your nuts or any part of you turns blue.

Ice scares me more than gravel--so that's my cut-off point. :-)

It's been +10 right through Christmas here in Ontario. Beautiful! I've seen quite a few bikers on the road. Have I ever been envious!

It is NEVER too cold to ride!!!
Your local Harley shop has electric gloves and also a electric vest to go under your leathers....
IF you keep your chest warm and your fingers warm then you can handle the temperature down to -10F
I live in Wisconsin and have ridden in january when it was -10...It sure did make the yuppie puppies look!!! LOL BUT it felt so good to be riding!!!
Nothing will make your day better than a ride no matter what the season is!!!

Re:

I hear that, been down that road in the evening and late at night when the black-ice makes for dangerous curves ahead.
Nice and sunny weather in Florida this time of year too bad I freeze my N*tts off in Flint when I visit my significant-O on two wheels.
It's funny how "Joy" can't stand the Airconditioning in the Resturaunts and needs a sweater, yet she loves to ride this time of the year, must be a back-seat thang?
Dayum I just love skooting my boots in the slush and when the flakes are the size of qwuaters it just makes my manhood stand up and salute!
"Just keep ahold of the Saddle-Horn Joy and hold on tight"!

Well I am from your greaaat white cold north. I am still riding and it's November and until it is unsafe to ride the temperture isn't a issue. People snowmobile and no one thinks they are nuts. I have gone to both Friday the 13th in Port Dover Ontario. They were in Jan. and Oct. There wasn't that many riders in Jan. but in Oct. when it was colder and it did snow a little there were about 5 to 6 thousand bikes there. In good weather there are more then 20,000 bikes there for the one day. I have put on over 31,000 km since April 8th this year and I picked up my bike the temprature was below freezening. So if you dress right and can keep the rubber side down my oppion is that it is never to coooold to ride.

All I can say is, I am in awe. You are a good guy to give up your cage for your family, but -13?? The coldest I have ridden in was 35, but it was sunny and ended up warming up to about 50 - not bad. When I started out I had so many layers of clothes on. I couldn't turn my head easily to see, hands didn't feel secure on the grips and felt as if I couldn't move freely. Cold weather hunting gear and the new high tech wind proof gear helps but there wouldn't be enough layers to keep me warm in those temps. I can not imagine.
I ride because it is something I love to do but I hate being cold. I don't know how cold it was last year during our Xmas toy run, but I was way too cold. At least it wasn't raining like it was the previous year when I wimped out and drove a cage loaded down with toys. Hey, someone had to do it:)

Here is a lovely update the EX's car blew up she now has mine. She has two of my daughter and one grandson that live with her she needs it more than I do. Hope it is a warm winter up here. LOL. Been in the 20s and 30s with rain and snow but I ride on. So if you see a popcicle going down the road a low five will do fine. Ride safe

Well, it is too cold to ride when the leather rubbing against certain body parts stops being enjoyable. :)

40. That's when it's too cold to ride. LOL What can I say? I'm from Florida and we ride 365 days a year. Now if you want to ask me when it's too WET or WINDY to ride...my answer would be "during any storm categorized as a hurricane!" I feel bad for all my brothers and sisters up north who only get to ride half the year. So my answer is 40...that's cold for us. LOL Have a great day.

I think you have bumped your head one too many times. You are suppose to enjoy ridding let the wind blow in your face, not so mersiable, and cold, you can' feel your hands,or any other parts of the body. Anyone who rides in the ice ,snow or just bad weather is STUPID not only are you putting your life in danger but putting a lot of others in harms way also. A bike can not be controled in bad weather like a car, you have no control, if bikes were ment to be riden in snow they would have 4 wheel drive and chains(haha)so be real. and any one who says they are not mesirable riding in those conditions is a lier!!!!!
Ask River here he will tell you it crazy. Stay safe.
