Hello MilBrat63,
Yes, we are trying to figure out a way to resovle this problem. How about invite some volunteer moderators? We can even offer free gold membership or money for this.
1 How to let moderators approve our memssages timely?
2 How to keep the forum messages' quality?
1) Profane, vulgar or porn messages.
2) Contact information (email, home phone/address, etc.).
3) Any URL regardless of the intent or content of the site.
We should not allow such kind of messages.

O.K.... How about this..

volunteer moderators?
Fantastic Idea Kevin,
I'll even tell you how to pick them.. you keep track of how many posts members make in the forums..
Contact the ten most active members on the site.. ask them if they'd be willing to do, what they are already doing anyway..
Read and stay active in the forums, and see if they'd be willing to flag any messages that they don't consider to be appropriate.
This would be perfect as these are the people who use the service the most, they are the ones it should be tailored to, they know whats acceptable and whats not for this community better then anyone else does.
1 How to let moderators approve our memssages timely?
1)For the timely messages issue, I'd suggest you just let all posts from Chrome members show up immediately (You ought to take softails advice on the Chrome vs. Gold issue).. Let non-paying visitors posts be held for review by the moderators.
(Just add an index field to your member database, that when active allows that members posts to go through at once)
2 How to keep the forum messages' quality?
2) let a few volunteer moderators have the ability to replace a post with a notice, something like one of the other peeps suggested.. (Replace the text in question with a ~pending approval flag~).. B.K. could then review it for approval.
You also leave in place the report abuse link at the bottom of each post so you have yet another level of review.
And finally do like many sites do, if you have a paying member who keeps getting messages flagged for approval.. Then switch them back to having all of their posts reviewed before posting. (Remove the activating value from the index field in that members records in your database).
IMPORTANT KEVIN: There should NEVER be any indication on the site as to how a post was selected for review.. In other words do not make targets out of your moderators..
When a post is flagged for review by B.K., wether by a moderator or someone else who uses the report abuse link.. The flag that replaces the post should simply state the post is currently under review.
IT MUST NOT SAY WHO SELECTED IT FOR REVIEW.
The vast majority of posts do not contain anything that presents an issue. Those that do would be caught quickly using this process.
This would allow for a much smoother flow of communication in the forums.

1) Profane, vulgar or porn messages.
This is a ~Biker~ site Kevin, anyone coming into this site should realize that our ideas of what is Vulgar, Profane or Porn messages are going to be a bit different then the ~normals~ out there.
You really need to add a disclaimer to the forums link on your front page and your membership agreements.
(Disclaimer should state that while you make every attempt to keep the site clean, the possibility of offensive material does exist. Make them state that they are over 18 and aware of this possibility BEFORE they can view the forum or accept membership.)
Using the procedures listed above you will find the messages soon meet the ~Chrome~ members version of acceptability.
After all we are the ones that are pulling out our credit cards and paying for the service.. That means that... and pay attention to this..
I'll even highlight it for you..
You can take it to the morning meeting and show it to your bosses..
The only version of acceptability..
The only peoples opinions of what is Vulgar, Profane or Porn that counts for B..K.
HAD BETTER BE OURS!
Otherwise we will take our toys (credit cards) and go play in somebody elses sandbox.
2) Contact information (email, home phone/address, etc.).
I am with you on that..
Buy a membership ya cheap bums. If you can not afford to spring for even a one month membership, shes not gonna want to waste her time with you anyway.
Get a job, earn some green, bring it here.. buy a membership.. and then maybe you'll be worth the ladies time.
3) Any URL regardless of the intent or content of the site.
We should not allow such kind of messages.
On this I disagree..
Some URLs should be allowed.
There are going to be cases where the URL links to pages that are needed for the members here, things like motorcycle legislation that is upcoming, safety information ect.
The volunteer moderators can flag any URLs that get posted for review, and B.K itself can do the review for final approval.
Keep up the good work..
Man this was long winded even for me..lol.
